Digital Nomad Visa in Spain

Document preparation and support for international teleworker (digital nomad) applications and accompanying family members.

Quick answer

International teleworker residence is for third-country nationals who work or provide professional services remotely, mainly for companies located outside Spain, using computer and telecommunications systems.

Who may qualify

  • Remote employees of foreign companies.
  • Qualified professionals meeting the education or experience requirements.
  • Family members who may accompany the main applicant under Law 14/2013.

Main requirements

  • The company or group must show real and continuous activity for at least one year.
  • Evidence that the employment or professional relationship can be performed remotely.
  • The applicant must meet qualification/experience and general Law 14/2013 conditions, including financial means and applicable social-security/insurance requirements.

Documents

  • Passport and the application required by the UGE/consular procedure.
  • Company documentation and evidence that the work is remote-capable.
  • Employment/professional contract and evidence of the required duration of the relationship.
  • Qualification or professional-experience evidence, financial means and social-security/insurance documentation.

How the procedure works

  • From abroad, a visa procedure may apply; applicants lawfully in Spain may apply for residence through the UGE where the law allows.
  • The UGE assesses both international-telework conditions and the general requirements of Law 14/2013.
  • After approval, subsequent formalities are completed, including the TIE where required.
